I ran into an interesting coincidence and wonder if these names mean anything to anyone. I have a Silas Wallen who married into my family tree in Ohio when he married Elizabeth Edwards about 1845 in Licking Co. I don't know his origins. Today, researching on the other side of my family, I discovered a Mary L. Wallen in Arkansas (father Anderson, b. TN, mother Mary, b. AR) who also married into the family in 1890 when she married George C. Scroggins in Carroll Co. I'm sure there are many, many Wallens around who aren't related to each other, but I was just curious, since it's not that common a name (at least to me) and now I've got it in my family tree twice - once on my mother's side, and once on my father's side! Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?
