The information I have is that my George W. Wallen was one of the 18 children of Elisha Wallen and Mary Hughes. He was born 12/2/1839. He married Araminta Adeline Grider, 1/7/1858 in St. Francois Co, MO. they had 5 children: my grt. grandfather John Clay Wallen, George W. Wallen, Thomas E. Wallen, Eliza Adeline Wallen & Mary E. Wallen. George Washington Wallen was a Confederate Soldier in the Cival War. He was captured on 11/01/1864 in Washington Co. MO. and taken to the Alton Confederate Prison in Alton, Illinois. He died there of pneumonia on 12/15/1864 and was buried in the Alton Confederate Cemetery, Alton, Madison Co., Ill. Araminta later married John Horton, Abt. 1878 and had three more children with him. I am trying to find more information on my grandfather's siblings.
