I am the great granddaughter of Frances M. Wallen, daughter (?) of James Wallen and Frances Hamblin (pages 200,201 "Elisha Wallen the Longhunter". According to my Grandfather, A.J.Adair, his Mother-in-law (I assume Frances was his source as she lived in his home for over twenty years) was the daughter of James Wallen and Frances Hamblin, daughter of Charles Hamblin. My dilemma is this: Frances M. Wallen was born Sept. 15, 1843. She was 7 at the time of the 1850 census and living with the Widow Frances Wallen. Her tombstone in Oak Grove, Missouri also gives the date of 1843. According to what I have found so far, James Wallen died in 1841 although I have no exact date. His Will was probated in 1844. I have tried the State Library but have been told there are no birth records that far back. What I need is a Bible entry or a baptismal record. I am looking for any information which could help explain how Frances M. became a member of the Widow Wallen household. Could she be a niece? Is the date of James' death not correct? Frances M. Wallen became Mrs. Jesse Russell Youree in 1862 in Jackson County, Missouri. She is a very special person to me and I would appreciate any help that might be out there.
