Hi Marilyn, Here is more information on how to order a photocopy of the Hartford Feb. 1787 petiton which is in the Nye Index, Vol. 17, p. 284. Please email ccarter@sec.state.vt.us Lydia Mackey, State Archives, Office of the Secretary of State, Montpelier, VT 05602, who wrote me on 11/12/04. This Vermont State Paper Manuscript is a "Petition for reppointment of Elkanah Sprague as Justice of the Peace" with signatures of our families; i.e. Birch, Burtch, Powers, etc. Good luck, Cousin Jan <jnrose at webtv dot net>
