Yes, this is the same Joy, and Leonard was an honest to goodness real cowboy who taught his best friend Roy Rogers how to be a cowboy. The story is rich with history. You could write a book about the Eilers---easily. I heard the Sons of the Pioneers recorded "Water" on their property. I also heard that Jimmy Dodd of Mickey Mouse Club fame was the guest there every New Years Eve; that Joy used to go Christmas Caroling with Andy Williams; that she toured war zones with James Garner. I would like to hear the rest with you when she tells her story, there's that much.
I just spoke with Joy, and she would like you to have her mailing address. Please email me and I will share it with you.
I've always loved Granada Hills. I went to Granada Hills High, and my love of my life lived in Granada Hills. I remember the parking on Chatsworth had diagonal spaces. Very friendly and country-like. Good luck in your study and writing. Have you written anything else?
