I first met Tsgt. Yarbarough at Hickam AFB in Hawaii. He was a shift chief. I was in Hawaii for TDY from about May 31, '67 for 120 days. He was fine while there. It was when he was made an interem shop chief in Phan Rang that he got a bit like Napoleon.
Tsgt Yarbarough was a local at the NCO club. He took a short cut down the hill one evening from the NCO club, drunk, he fell and broke him arm. Boy was he embarassed when he showed up for work the next day.
I always enjoyed going up the hill to watch movies with a case of beer and a few buddies. A good view of the base below, especially when we were attacked - what a show.
