Not to jump in here... or change the subject.... but you are correct, Gary. ASA used the lightning bolt but I don't believe it would have been attached to a GB's flash. The ASA version was on a sholder patch and the lightning bolt was in an eagle's claw. FYI: ASA was supposedly not in RVN. In country they were part of Radio Reasearch commands (RRC-company, RRU-unit, etc.)ASA's primary functions was signal intel, radio direction finding and radio fingerprinting.
