I am researching the Harris family of Rhoda Harris, who married Abraham Vasser. _The Descendants of John Vasser of Virginia (1635-1984): A Family History_ by Lyndal G. Vessar has an error in a chart showing the descendants of William Harris. It has William Harris b. 1734, wife Elizabeth, as the parents of Rhoda Harris. It their son, Samuel Harris Vasser, b. 1757-1846. If William Harris was b. 1734, it would be impossible for him to have a grandson b. 1757.

It is well documented that Samuel Harris Vasser was the s/o Abraham and Rhoda (Harris) Vasser, and his DoB of 1757 appears to be approximately accurate and consistent with a DoB of @1756 of his brother, Nathaniel.

I have good supporting evidence that Rhoda had a brother named William, married to an Elizabeth, and born between 1724-1748. I suspect that the author has confused her (likely) brother William with her father, who may or may not have been named William.
