Joseph, the Valentine Varnes to which you refer was the son of George Werntz(Varnes). George was in turn the son of Conrad Worntz who arrived in Pa. in 1729. I can provide you with names of people who would be glad to help you with the history of the Valentine family. I may descen from another Valentine Varnes who arrived in America after the beginning of the Revolutionary War. He arrived in time to serve in the Revolution. Earl L. Varnes
