Dear Rick and Janice,

I too am very excited to be connected to someone on the Varnes/Warnes family. I will be very happy to share anything that I have with you. Last summer my husband and I went to the Bender-Warnes Family Cemetery located in Lake Township, Ashland County, Ohio where our Great-Great-Great Grandfather George Varnes is buried. It was a wonderful time. Three of George's children were represented that day. Carolyn Amstutz who is a descendant of John Warnes, Ellen Patrick who represented Philip (your connection. She lives in Newcomerstown, Ohio) and myself representing Martin Warnes. It is so funny how some of the children of George used Warnes, Warns or Varnes as their last names.

The Bender-Warnes Cemetery is a very well kept small family cemetery located on what was once Warnes family land. It is located on the south side of CR 2575 and west of TR 327, the entrance is off of TR 327.

I am very anxious to hear from you and any info that you may have on the Varnes family when they lived in Pa. before coming to Ohio in 1814. Please contact me at my e-mail address at: tintown@tusco.net Sincerely, Deb (Varnes) Abel
