Around 1798-1800 Zachariah Van Sickle and wife Rosannah bought land from Robinson in present day Mason County, West Virginia. Anthony Van Sickle and Henry Van Meter Sr. also bought land there at the same time.
This Zachariah then goes back to tax records in Greene County, Pa. 1797 along with Henry. Anthony is not mentioned there.
Henry bought his land died in 1803 in Greene County and left it to 3 sons. I have all this information. However the continuing question is whether this Zachariah was the father of or brother of Anthony. It is important to me because my gggggrandmother was Christina Van Sickle and the sister of Anthony.
The 1810 census of Mason County has both Zack and Anthony. The oldest male in Zacks household is 45 and up and the oldest in Anthonys is 26-45. Certainly possible to be either son and father or brothers.
These families go on back to New Jersey and then to New York.
I have been out of research about a year for personal reasons and wonder if anything new has been found on this line of Van Sickles.
Glad to share what I have. Norma Frank
