At First Reformed in Reading Berks Co:
Marie VanderSleis, dau of Daniel and Margrete, born 9/10/1797, bapt 10/8/1797, spons: John FUCHs (FOX) and Elizabeth.
At Schwatzwald Reformed Church, Exeter, marriages:
John FUCHS to Elizabeth CLEMENS of Reading on 5/23/1790.
So is Elizabeth related to Margaret CLEMMONS?
And speaking of 3 wives of Daniel that Pennypacker says, there is a marriage shown on p 109 of the Vanderslice book:
German Reformed Church, Phila:
Daniel Vonderschleuss to Catharine Schunk on 3/19/1793.
Who is this Daniel?
Note also on that same page, a Daniel A Vanderslice died 6/16/1823, age 58. Who is he? Would be born c1765?
Now the Daniel, son of Henry, shown born 1759, died 12/30/1812 in Philadelphia, per pages 35-6. If that were the case, there should be a probate file in Phila, which is not shown. And Orphan's court for the children who would have been under 21. If Daniel was born 1799, he would be a minor. As well as the younger children.
The dates are wrong for the epidemic of yellow fever in Phila, as the worst was in 1793 and 1797.
1793 Philadelphia Yellow Fever Over 4,000 dead
1793 PA (Harrisburg & Middletown) many unexplained deaths
1794 Philadelphia Yellow Fever
1796-97 Philadelphia Yellow Fever
1798 Philadelphia Yellow Fever One of the worst
Has anyone found a will or estate file for Daniel c1813, which would be filed after he died, in Phila? There is nothing at Reading in Berks Co. on the Register of Wills site.
