My great-grandfather Juan Y. Valdez & His wife Carmen had 16 children, 12 girls, 2 boys and 2 either still births or miscarriages. I know my great-grandfather & great-grandmother lived in chama for some time as the house is still there next to my grandfather's house and then later moved to Aztec, NM. Most of their children are in that area as well. This is what i know so far... Paternal Great Grandparents: Juan Y. Valdez b. 5/16/01 d. 9/9/1994 in Aztec, NM (wife) Carmen (maiden name unk) b. 7/15/06 d. 12/?/1996 in Aztec, NM my grandfather: Cippriano Valdez b. 8/6/27 d. 1/10/01 in Chama NM (1st wife) Josefina Valdez (still living in Roswell NM) (2nd wife) Ascencion Baldonado (still living in Chama NM) Sibling: Don Valdez (still living in Chama, NM) (wife Angie maiden name unk) other siblings unknown This is where it gets sticky. My grandmother was also Valdez, from around the same area. Her father and mother are as follows: Delfido (sp?) Valdez b. 4/5/1896 d. 3/?/1967 i believe he died in flora vista (wife) Octaviana "Tabby" Valdez (maiden name unk) b. 7/6/1900 d. 11/?/1982 in Flora Vista, NM my paternal grandmother: Josefina Valdez b. 3/19/19? (1st husband Cippriano Valdez deceased see above dates) (2nd husband Eldon Whitaker deceased b. 1/8/1919 d. 3/27/2003) Siblings: Margaret Valdez b. 1/23/1917 d. 5/23/2001 married to Ignacio Valdez (brother to my great grandfather Juan Valdez i believe) Dolores Valdez (currently lives in Aztec or Farmington) "Tex" Valdez unkown birth & death dates & i don't know his real name Leo Valdez sitll living in Farmington (wife Leoba maiden name unk) still living in farmington Leah (sp?) Valdez unknown birth and death dates other siblings unk I would like info on my great grandparents either side and to know more history on who their parents/grandparents were; and/or any help filling in the blanks. Any help would be appreciated...thanks!
