MRS. JOHN BROHAWN, of Baltimore, Md., who has been visiting relatives here for several weeks, died at the home of her daughter, MRS. J.F. GARRETT, Sunday morning after several weeks illness. She had just passed her 81st birthday a short time.
A short funeral service was conducted at Mrs. Garrett's home on Limestone st. Sunday afternoon. The body was shipped Sunday night to Salisbury, Md., MRS. BROHAWN'S old home, where the interment took place. MRS. KROH, of Baltimore, one of the daughters , accompanied the body.
MRS. BROHAWN was before her marriage MISS OLIVIA LYELL of Westmoreland county, Virginia. Early in her married life she went to Maryland, where she resided until her death. MR. BROHAWN died nine years ago. She was a member of the Harlem Ave. Methodist church of Baltimore and was active in the activities of the church.
The deceased is survived by 4 daughters and one son as follows: MRS. J.F. GARRETT and MRS. FLOYD BAKER of Gaffney, S.C.; MRS. H.S. KROH and MISS S.A. BROHAWN of Baltimore; and J.W. BROHAWN of Baltimore. Besides these are 3 grandchildren, MRS. C. ANDERSON of Dayton, O., MRS. W. VAN SANT of Baltimore, and MRS. GERALD FITZGERALD of Oklahoma City, Okla.
MRS. BROHAWN had visited in Gaffney during several summers and she had made many friends who sympathize deeply with the bereaved relatives.
