This sounds familiar. There was a Lt. Col. Richard Cocke early on in colonial Va. He was married to Temperance Bailey and so on down the line. He was a wealthy and prestigeous man in early Va. I have visited some of the gravesites of the Cocke family from this line.
They are intermingled with Edward Goodrich thru his wife Margaret who was married to a Wynne and Jones and it looks like this line MIGHT have been related to the Bollings et al if not also the Beverleys and on and on infiniti. But I will have to give you more information as soon as I can get to it. This Richard Cocke owned a lot of plantations, one of them he passed down to his son, Capt. Thomas Cocke who married a Margaret Powell, then a Eliz. Mason, then a Margaret Cruse. The plantation he inherited was Malvern Hills, altho his father owned Bremo and Curles. All this info I have to credit to other people...there is a book or something that you can purchase about them and I will get the info about it and post it back to you if this is in fact your line.
