WCV DB 6: Indenture of 13 Oct 1815 Bet. SAMUEL FULTON High Sheriff, WCV, one & EDMOND WYATT, WCV, other: Whereas a certain tract… in WCV, 50 acres, has been returned delinquent in name of DAVID CARSON for non payment of taxes due… for 1802 which taxes… damages… & fee to Clerk… amounts to sum of 47 cents… land, duly advertised… was offered for sale… on 2nd day of Aug Court held… 16 Aug 1815, or so much as would be sufficient to discharge sd. arrears… & sd. E. WYATT offered to pay sd. sum of 75 cents for whole tract and no person offering to pay same for less… land was bid off… Now this Indenture… SAMUEL FULTON… sells for 47 cents to EDMOND WYATT & heirs sd. land… p. 330: …under laws of Comm. of VA for sale of delinquent lands & more especially under act entitled “An act to amend & explain the act entitled an act concerning taxes on lands” Passed 09 Feb 1814. …day & year first above written. /s/ SAML.
