I research a Jonas Reynolds of Cumberland and Bedford Co., VA. On Dec. 26, 1770, Jonas Reynolds, then of Cumberland Co., VA., sold Benjamin Walker of Pr. Edward Co., VA., 400 acres described as being in Cumberland Co., VA. A Warren Walker was one of the witnesses and I think he was probably a kinsman of Benjamin Walker. However I need help to determine the identity of the two other witnesses: Jonas Reynolds who signed his name and Thomas Renold who used a mark. I don't believe that Jonas would have witnessed his own deed so here I have an unknown Jonas Reynolds along with an unknown Thomas Renold.
Were the Walkers any kin of Jonas Reynolds, the grantor? I still need a family name for Susanna , the wife of Jonas. Were the other witnesses Jonas Reynolds and Thomas Renold possibly kind to Jonas the grantor?
Any help on these identifications will help. Arlina
