Hello Steve, it's nice to meet you. I am the daughter and oldest child of Fred and Lois Doss Oliver. I remember Matt and Hudell quite well. My brothers and sisters (there were 7 of us) loved to visit up there. My brother, Glenn and I have been tracing our family tree for over 10 years now and the Olivers have been hard to follow. We've learned quite a bit through the census and other online research. I have birth and death certificates and Nathaniel's military record from the Civil War. I have 2 possible names for his father. What do you know about his mother, Keziah? I haven't worked on it in a few months. Sometimes I have to leave it alone for awhile in order to sort things out. You had said that Queenie had delivered your father, well on my father's birth certificate it states that he was delivered by Martha Oliver, his grandmother! Imagine that. It seems strange to us, but nothing to them. We also have a cousin who lives in Floyd County. She is the GGranddaughter of Sallie Bell Oliver Spencer. Her Grandmother is Sallie's youngest daughter. Also, there is a problem with Martha's last name. It comes up as both Fellows and either, Henley or Hensley. Maybe you know some things to help us get a bit farther along. So, I hope we can keep in touch and learn more from each other.
