Hi: As a DAVES researcher I have been struggling with the family of Thomas and Marjory (Traylor) Daves and their 11 children born from about 1762 til about 1782 in Mecklenburg County. I am very interested in locating descendants who might have information.

I am currently working on several families:

William Daves married Mary (maiden name unknown). Both William and Mary were dead by 1823. Mary's will dated 4 August 1822 mentions daughters Mary Ann Whittle (husband Fortescue Whittle) and Ann Margaret Green. I would to hear from descendants.

I am also researching the family of John Thomas Daves and his wife Margaret (Maggie) G. Elam. John Thomas was born in 1862 and dies in 1893. The couple had three children: (1) Edward H. Daves who married Elvie Gooch, (2) Julia E. Daves who never married and (3)John T. Daves about whom I have no information. After John Thomas Daves' untimely death Maggie married an unknown Atkins. Maggie Elam's parents were William Andrew Elam and Sophia Jane Herndon.

All these people seem to have spent the greater part of their lives in Mecklenburg County. I would very much like to contact anyone with information about these families. Very best New Year's Wishes, Doyle Daves
