Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! I have very little on Joseph Keeton myself, having just learned his name less than a year ago. Some of what I have I got from an accredited genealogist, with whom I have since lost contact. He gave the date of Joseph Keeton's will as 13 July 1820, witnesses Churchill Curtis, Allen Hunt, and Warner C Keeton. Joseph's death date was in early 1824. The estate inventory was on 24 February of 1824, and included 1204 acres of land. Executors were Captain Churchill Curtis, John Hutcheson, and his "Beloved wife Martha".

I got the names and some other info on the nine children of Joseph and Martha Keeton from a descendant of John Murrel Keeton and Nancy Allgood. She had only the name of "my" Mary, so I will fill you in later there. The others follow:
John Murrel Keeton b 1770, d 1832. Married 5 May 1792 to Nancy Allgood, daughter of Moses Allgood and Anne__, with the consent of Moses Allgood. Nancy was born before 5 May 1771.
Audrey "Anchorage" Keeton b before 9 December 1772. Married 19 December 1793 to James Salley.
Leonard Keeton b before 13 July 1773. Married 22 November 1794 to Polly Tucker. Married 9 March 1801 to Mary Tucker.
Joseph Keeton b before 8 August 1785. Married 31 August 1803 to Sarah Cheatham. Married 13 October 1806 to Betsy Moore.
Agnes Keeton b before 9 June 1791. Married 9 June 1812 to Thomas Johnson.
Susannah Keeton b before 16 January 1794. Married 16 June 1815 to Wiley Tucker.
Elizabeth Keeton b before 21 October 1794. Married 26 October 1815 to John Day.
Martha, about whom I know nothing.
As all the birthdates have a "before", I am assuming these were Christening dates.

Mary Keeton was born on/about 21 March 1768, the date figured from her age at death, which is engraved on her tombstone. She was first married 25 November 1788 to Benjamin Humphries, with the consent of Joseph Keeton. Mary bore two children by Benjamin Humphries, William and Armind. I have more info on both of them, most from descendants of William. Be happy to share that later.
Benjamin Humphries died sometime before 12 June 1797, which is the date Mary "Umphris" married Elias Turner JR in Orange CO NC. The bondsman was Elias Turner SR. As it happened, Elias JR served as administrator of Benjamin Humphries' estate, which included 123 acres of land in Wake CO NC, just over the county line from the Turner property in Orange CO. Elias Turner JR also accepted guardianship for William and Armind Humphries, and from time to time made his reports to the court.
Elias Turner JR and Mary Keeton (widow of Benjamin Humphries) had at least five more children:
Mildred Turner was born about 1800. She is listed on the 1850 Chariton CO census as 55, and "idiot". In 1860, she was 60. A footstone near the grave of Mary is engraved "M. T.", and is thought to be that of Mildred.
Asa Turner was born 19 May 1804 in Orange CO NC, probably near Hillsborough. He died 14 August 1888 in Brunswick, Chariton CO MO. He first married Elizabeth Newton 1828 in Hopkins CO KY. She died @1850 in Brunswick, Chariton CO MO, having borne Asa nine children. Asa Turner remarried 15 August 1851 in New Franklin, Howard CO MO, to a sweet young thing, Jennetta Wilds, widow of John Pile, and took in her two young daughters. They proceeded to have seven more kids. The youngest, Viola Ruth Turner, was born when Asa was 66, Jenneta 47. Viola was my great grandmother. I have a cat named Viola...and one named Asa, too.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Turner was born 30 September 1806 Orange CO NC, near Hillsborough. She died 27 September 1869 Brunswick, Chariton CO MO, and is buried in Hazel Ridge Cemetery. She married 17 January 1821 White CO IL to Thomas Elliott, son of Samuel Elliott and Sarah "Sally" ___. She and Thomas had a number of children, one named Wilkerson Keeton Elliott (it was when I found Wilkerson's middle name that I became convinced this was the right family to be pursuing for Mary). Betsy and Thomas also had a son named Samuel, who in 1860 had a son named Asa Wilson Elliott. In 1888, Asa Wilson Elliott married his first cousin-once-removed, Miss Viola Ruth Turner. Hence, I descend from Mary Keeton twice!
Mary Turner was born Summer of 1808, either in Orange CO NC or Henderson CO KY, near Smith's Mills. She died 31 May 1864, and is buried in Stokes Chapel Cemetery in White CO IL. She married 3 February 1825 in White CO to john Mitchell Stokes.
Elias Turner III carried the middle intitial G. he was born 23 January 1813 in Smith's Mills, Henderson CO KY. He died 16 September 1894 Brunswick, Chariton CO MO, and is buried in the Turner Cemetery (more about it later). He married 24 July 1838 in Brunswick Mo to Mary Ann Herring, lately moved there from MD. I correspond regularly with Stephen Turner, a descendant of that union. Even got to meet Steve in person last April, which was rather nice.

Elias Turner Jr, whom I call II, moved his family to Henderson CO KY about 1808. With them travelled Elias SR, whom I call I, and his wife, Mary ___. In 1811, Armind Humphries married Phillip Underwood in Henderson CO. William Humphries married not too long thereafter, and had three children. More on them if you are interested. Also with the clan was Elias II's brother, also named Asa Turner. In 1813, this Asa Turner was given a power-of-attorney, signed by Elias and Mary Turner, Phillip and "Army" Underwood, and William Humphries to travel back to NC to sell Mary's 123 acres of land in Wake CO NC. Soon after he returned with the proceeds, Elias and Mary (Keeton), along with all the children except William Humphries, moved to White CO IL.
William and his wife, Cyntha, joined the Turner clan in White CO by about 1828. William died soon after, and Cyntha remarried. For some reason, the children became wards of Elias II and Mary Turner.
