The Post - May 11, 1899: " We learned the names of the parties engaged in the before mentioned murder in the Crab Orchard, near Robins Chapel, Lee County, Virginia. Frank Robins was shot and killed by Silas Holmes, on Frank Robins' own farm in the presence of his wife and boy. Clinton Holmes, a cousin of Silas, was an accessory to the murder and is now in Jonesville jail for his conduct. Clinton was on the race track for Commissioner of the Revenue, 3rd district, Lee County. The county jailer will now care for Clint. (Pearl)"
