Hi my name is Scott Felts I was born in Augusta County and own a cabin along the Bullpasture River gorge. Have you ever been to this area before. They call it little Switzerland. I have not heard of the family name you speak of but I know a lot of details about early farms and the people that lived along the river. I am related to the McLungs a family that owned a farm up river from a little town called williamsville. I am afraid you will not find many others that know much about this area. The population is less now than it was at the time of the Civil War.Most lived in McDowell at the headwaters of the Bull Pasture or in a little place called Clover Creek about half way down river before you get to Williamsville. Clover Creek consist of an old church and cemetery a farm house and an old store that was last opened 20 or 30 years ago. across the road from Clover Creek is the foundation of Fort George a first settlers fort that was regularly attacked by Indians. This place is like no other on the east coast it reminds me of pictures I have seen of Montana. You should visit it if you can. If you have any other questions send me an e-mail at email@example.com or send me a reply here.
