Thanks Gloria, I did have daughters Dorothy (Dolly) and Katherine (Katy) for James, but not accurate birth dates. The mother that's commonly listed in family trees for Lucy is Mary Elizabeth Martin, not Mary Millner, so not sure who Lucy's mother may be or, as you say, a prior marriage to this other Mary. Pretty sure James is Lucy's father 'cause can't be that many James MacEntrees/MacKentries in Halifax County. Can you send me via my e-mail the link to, or copy of, those registers you referred to? My particular interest is to find out which of Lucy's sons may be parent of my 5G grandfather Joshua MacKeltree Adams, born in 1801 in Halifax County. Likely his grandparents were Lucy & Nipper. MacKeltree name is how the old folks remembered it to be pronounced, so not accurate spelling. Joshua 1801 moved to Tennessee in 1820?, then to Pickens County, Alabama in 1835 or so, died there 1887. FYI - there are some family trees with a John Jefferson Adams, who may be another son or grandson of Lucy & Nipper. This family moved to Georgia and had sons Nipper, Braxton, and Joshua. Lots of James, Joshuas, Samuels, Sanfords, and Williams in the descendants. Regards, Lloyd |
