I would like to get in touch with members of the Link family from those and nearby counties and in particular with families of men who are descended in an all-male line from John Adam Link. John Adam was in Halifax County, Virginia, by 1759 and died there in 1789.
The idea is to get a DNA test to see whether this Link family is related to other Links (several spellings), for example the group who arrived in North America from Germany at the time of the Revolution. Very few Links have been tested so far.
I have a lot of information about the early descendants of John Adam. After about 1900 they are harder to follow, but I know from several Internet sources that there are still Link families living in that area. If you think you are descended from this family, I would like to work with you to establish a line back to John Adam.
My own descent is as follows.
John Adam Link and wife Sarah
John Link (died 1817)and wife Mary (died 1837)
Sarah Link who married Ransom Turner (both died in MS between 1850 & 1860)
James A. Turner (1819-1866) m. Tennessee Hale
William Venoy Turner (1855-1921) m. Lelia Cox
