Thanks for replying. Jacob Janney married Mary Jane Moore in 1842, I believe, but it was in Floyd County, VA. Jacob was of Franklin County, VA and Mary Jane was of Floyd County, VA. On the marriage certificate it listed Jacob as having a guardian named Sparrel Janney. I went to the Franklin County courthouse and found a record where Jacob Janney and sister Sallie were appointed to Sparrel Janney to be their guardian. It went on to state that Jacob and Sallie were orphans of Aaron Janney. This event happened in the 1820s. Mary Jane Moore is the daughter of David Moore. I have not been able to find any thing else on him except that he shows up in the 1840 census of Floyd County. I checked the 1830 census of Franklin County, VA and the David there did not meet the criteria to be the same one in 1840 Floyd. I do know that Jacob and Mary had a daughter Henrietta that married a Scott. A daughter named Rosabell that married a Blair and a few other kids. Jacob, I believe, enlisted and fought in the Civil War and died in the early stages and is buried in Hollywood cemetery in Richmond, I believe. I do have documentation on the previously mentioned material so it is based on facts. I hope that this may be of use to you.
