It is located in the southeastern part of Franklin County, Virginia, towards Martinsville. It is a rural area, encompassing many miles. There is a Snow Creek Elementary School and a few churches but that is about it. I am not even sure if the old country store is still in operation.

You could check with the library (Franklin Co) in Rocky MOunt VA - or the genealogy society for the county. Their website is http://www.rootsweb.com/~vafrankl/franklin.htm and they recently published a book on the county. You might also check http://www.virginiaheritage.org/
