The fact that the names are the same and both in Floyd this is strange so I would suggest you start here: There was a Samuel Jackson Light b 11-1-1828 in Floyd died 6-22-1888 married 8-16-1855 in Floyd Salina E. Link b 1-2-1841. There is a good possiblity of a connection since your grandfather could have been name after his grandfather. Good Luck! Also have you gotten your grandfather death or birth certificate-death certificate copy should be at funeral home and/or at cemetary, birth certificate you can look for at Floyd courthouse, if they don't have you can write State of Va. for $5 and get a copy of birth and death record.
