On 8 Dec 1750 John Phillips purchased 102 acres from John Sweet and Betty Sweet. (Fairfax Deed Book C1:187) On 5 Ap. 1754, John Phillips, of Prince Georges County Maryland, purchased 400 acres from Henry Awbrey. (Fairfax Deed Book C1:708) The land purchased by the above deeds was part of Loudoun County beginning in 1757. Often a wife's name is only included in a deed when land is sold. John Phillips sold land in Loudoun County per the online deed index located at http://www.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=2572 |
