I have a William B. Smith that I keep getting confused with. In the 1860 Craig County census there is a William Smith listed with wife, Frances. This Wm. Smith born about 1803 and Frances about 1806. My gg grandfather, a William B. Smith was born 1830, is listed in Giles County in 1900. Does anyone know if the first William is the father of my William B.? I found records showing a William Bervin Smith born about 1803 and whose family moved to Giles County about that time. I also found records saying a Henry M. Smith was the father of my William B. Smith, but other records state Henry M. was a 'friend' of my Wm. B., not his father. Can anyone help with this?
