The Ogles that came here, generally were descendants of John Ogle and Elizabeth Robinson from New Castle, DE. Their children came as a group; Hercules, Thomas, John and Lucretia. They came around 1763, but moved on to NC after about a year, possibly due to Indian trouble since this area wasn't opened by treaty until 1768.
However, some came back to what became Carroll and started the family here. Some went to TN and a few trickled as far west as IL.
Most lived in the northern part of the county, between Hillsville and Short's Creek.
Another brother, William, md Martha Jane Husky in Rowan County, NC in 1768, but seems to have ended up in SC, however, some claim TN. I don't find a wife named Rebecca in my records, but his will mentions a daughter by that name, so there may have been one. I have not researched him.
We had no families in our area by the name of Husky/Huskey. Tradition says that Martha Husky came from Wake County, NC
