Afraid I can't help you. Silas and Elizabeth Davis were not in Carroll in 1870, though they were there in 1860. Silas was a wagoneer but he was born about 1808 and Elizabeth was born about 1817. It's not probable that they would have a child born as late as 1870, so he was likely a grandson.
Silas was gone from the county by the time of the 1870 census, though 2 of his children married there; Samuel, (b. 1836) who was a school teacher in 1860 (gave his birthplace as Montgomery County) became a physician and married late in life to Amanda Painter in 1874. He died in Carroll in 1909.
In 1866, Silas' daughter, Elizabeth, married Charles Pate. They too, were gone by 1870.
I don't find that any of Silas' other children remained in Carroll.
