I was wondering if you have ever come across any reference
to Edmund Pendelton's neighbor in 1778, Mary Pruett/Prewit in any of the land records of Auborn Hills.
The only information I have is from Edmund Pendleton's letters:
1778 Oct24. Richard Pruet was mentioned in a letter of Edmund Pendleton to Wm. Woodford..Edmund asks if inquiry can be made about his widow neighbor's son Richard Pruet
who was in Capt. Nathan Reid's Company of the 14th Regiment. Rumor has it that Richard Pruet is dead or in the hospital. ((Letters of Edmund Pendleton Vol. 1 page 274).
(The widow neighbor could be Mary Pruett, wife of Thadeus Pruett who died in 1774.) Unfortunately, Richard Prewit had died in the hospital at Valley Forge, PA on July 15, 1778.
Richard was probably a young boy who was drafted in February of that terrible winter and didn't survive the brutal conditions at Valley Forge.
