It's been awhile since you put out this inquiry, and you may have found out what you needed to know by now, but I am also interested in Eagle's Nest Methodist Church. I live in TN, but I have ancestors (Samuels) who are (were) thought to be buried there. I was actually there just a few days ago and what's left of the cemetery is not far from Enon. The church opened in 1885 and closed in the 1950's and dismantled. There is nothing left of the church itself and very little left of the cemetery. In fact, the cemetery is very nearly hopelessly overgrown. I found only one headstone that had a name on it (Taylor) and it was half buried. There were a handful of fieldstones. There were a few depressions in the ground. There was the remenant of a fenced-in area, but I couldn't open the gate because of the heavy growth and briars, nor could I see anything inside. I have a couple of pictures if you're interested (I can be reached at The cemetery is located on Passing Road in the eastern portion of Caroline County. A book I have (Private Cemeteries in Caroline County, Vol 3) lists only one headstone with any writing on it which says; Miss Adalaide Farmer Died July 6, 1935 Age 70. I did not see this headstone. The only stone I saw with any writing was the one mentioned above. I believe my Samuels are buried near the old home of Eagle's Nest, located just a few short miles away, which no longer stands and is also called the Old Samuel Cemetery and Homestead. This cemetery is in much better condition with several old stones, though all are very difficult to read. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. If you have info other that what I have, I'd like to hear from you. Thanks...Bob Julian
