The Library of Virginia has a short write-up by W. B. Adams of the Young home, categorized as Campbell County VA historic homes etc. The survey was conducted in 1936 and was a part of the Works Progress Administration (W.P.A.) of Virginia Historical Inventory sponsored by the Virginia Conservation Commission. The text is available on-line on the Library’s web site by searching for the author’s name – Adams, W. B. or the title – survey report, Young home: 1936 Jan. 23.
Item 6, historical significance, says the author and his informant were able to find an unrecorded will for William Young son of Michael Cadet Young, died 1836, at the Clerk’s Office files for Campbell County. Questions: Has anyone else come across this will? Does anyone have the text available to post here on the Young page of Genforum?
Concerning the home which had been remodeled by 1936: does anyone have further word of it?
Item 4, owners, says the house was owned by Michael Young, 1799-1836. I think that should read William.
