Renea, I did not have Rebecca in my base at all. You have brought together a lot of allied families here that are obviously more than random aquaintances or neighbors. The Cullum family are much more than just inlaws of daughter Darcus. My question is where did Rebecca, an apparant single woman that died in 1834 get property to will to her neices? As far as the sons of Samuel Steagall...I have the 3 you mention, Samuel, Jesse and Raybun. Do we have proven descendant lines of all 3 sons here? Is Jesse the same as Jesse Steagall found in the 1850 Census @ Mecklenburg Co., Virginia, age 101, born Virginia? I still think we are just scratching the surface of the Steagall family of Virginia, but peices of the puzzle like this sure moves it along in the right direction. There are still loose end Steagall families in late 1700's Virginia that connect up somehow and my line of William Steagall b. 1776 is one of them. The name patterns and locations of his children indicate a link to the Georges and the Bottom family, but the exact connection still eludes me. Thank you for keeping me in the loop on the Steagall family as they are one of my biggest challenges. |
