We are descended from Joel W. Dickerson and his wife, Adelaide Louisa Richardson. According to their family Bible, they were married after the civil war at Oak Grove and lived there until their deaths later in the 1800's. Joel's parents were David Dickerson and Agnes C. Baldwin. I assume that Oak Grove was the part of David's estate that was left to Joel W. I have tried to track the ownership of Oak Grove in county land records but it appears that has been bought, sold, and subdivided numerous times since the Dickerson owned it. It would have been located in the general vicinity of Rocks Baptist Church and Swanney Creek. Does anyone know where exactly where it might have been and if was a family cemetery on the property.
