Good news...After drinking a toast to Zachary Taylor at his grave in Louisville, I got up early the next day and drove to Frankfort (it was only about an hour east), and found the cemetery and the plot with the Buena Vista slain. Sure enough, Mr. Dozier is buried there! I drank a toast to him (diet coke), said a brief prayer on his behalf, and then took several high resolution digital photographs of the marker. I will download them this week at work and then send you copies.
Email me at my home address:
That way, I will be able to send you the files. Do you want high resolution (if you are on dial-up, it will take a LONG time to download) or just small jpgs?
It was the finest Buena Vista days I have celebrated in years. To sit at General Taylor's crypt and then to walk among many of the soldiers' graves was very moving. I was so glad that I drove to Frankfort. It is a beautiful cemetery.
