Go to the website shown below which is the provided by the Alamo Desdendants organization - Once there, click on "Alamo Briefs" - then go to the December 2002 edition. It gives an excellent bio on Louis (Mose/Moses) Rose - He was indeed French - all the way through and dedicated to battle (so say some - - if he'd been fighting for Napoleon and France.) Why he made the decision to leave the Alamo? Much speculation -also one might say, if he was so dedicated to Napoleon and France, why was he at the Alamo?
The title of this brief is "The Alamo Cowards Final Resting Place" - tough title - but then that's the mark he made on his fellow Texans. Read the brief - it's very interesting.
