The only Rose I know of that was at El Alamo was a Louis Rose. He was 51, born in France, decorated with Medal of Honor after napoleon campaigns in Naples and Russia. He arrived in Texas in 1826 and changed his named to Moses. He was also part of the wars against General Cos in 1835 in San Antonio however when option was given to leave the Alamo when death was obviously certain, he chose to leave as he said that he had come to the country to find a new life and wanted to live it.
I hope this helps
