I just installed FTM 2012 on my desktop and laptop. I had 5 similar tree files on both computers but had not kept them up to date with each other. I thought it would be necessary to ensure all files were named identically before uploading to anc.com so I first made sure my 5 tree files had the same name on both computers. I uploaded my 5 tree files from the desktop, then I did the same from my laptop. I named the anc.com files the exact same. Now on ancestry.com I have two files with the same name for each of the 5 trees. I assumed incorrectly, that my laptop files would just sync with the first anc.com file of the same name. If I edit the anc.com file it syncs with the FTM file it was linked to but not the other file with the same name. How do I get the files on my computers to both be linked to one file on the anc.com site. In short, I want to be able to edit on either computer and have it edit the other computer and the common anc.com file. I've read the unlinking instructions but it says once unlinked they cannot be re-linked, that scared me off the un-linking.
