You said is there ANY way to compare two trees. There is BUT you have to have a good speadsheet. like Corel's Quattro Pro, or MS Excel.
The first thing you have to do is export a linear report like the outline report as a csv file for both files.
The next thing you need to do is open the CSV file for each in the spread sheet and then copy to one spread sheet so both files are in separate columns in one worksheet. ie File Q in columns A and B and File Z in columns C and D.
In a different column, add a comparison statement and copy it down the column for all rows that have data in column A. In Corel Quattro Pro =A1=B1 If the contents in A1 are equal to the contents of B1 the cell with =A1=B1 will have a 1 if not a 0
When you find a 0, insert spaces either the column for file A or B, to get a match. then recopy the =A1=B1 down the remaining rows
This sounds complicated but depending on the number of rows and the number of errors in the data, it takes minutes.
Once you get through all of the rows you will need to correct those rows with no data or correct the contents to get the cells equal. Once you have corrected the database to make them equal, you may want to repeat the above process to ensure you have caught all of the differences.
