My mother was born in late 1918. She was adopted by Barton T. Dickinson and Amy Edith Underwood in Albuquerque, NM. My mom is 90 years old and only wants to know who she is before she dies. We suspect that she might be 'family' of the Underwoods in Oklahoma/Missouri. Adoption of children born to unmarried family members was not uncommon back then. Family names include - josiah blackburn underwood, elda. o underwood, esther gregory, deacon, finley lucky underwood, orlin, lantz. There are no records in New Mexico. There are also rumors that she was related to Rosa Lee Dodge who lived in Albuquerque for a time and was her mother's best friend. Rosa moved back to Missouri (we believe) after 1919.
