My wife's grandfather is William Ernest Underdown, born Ightam Kent on 23 March 1905. They are a large family and none of them moved more than about ten miles away from Ightam (apart from when being accomodated by Her Majesty) until my wife moved with me to Canberra. We would like to hear of any links or background to the name.
