Barb, we have the old Hood Co. History with the information on Serastas Umphress, who was my great grand- father. My Grandmother was Lola Umphress (Jones). I remember many stories told by her, but can't confirm any of them. I just recently came across biography on John R. Umphress, taken from History of Dallas Co., Texas. I haven't been working on the Umphress history very long, but might have some info. that would be of interest. Mary
