I started my family tree research 3 months ago and I have accumulated almost 1000 individuals. My friends call me OCD, but I want to list my records perfectly; What is the best/preferred way to list details? My current records are as such:
Mr. Thomas L. Kyle
332 Lincoln Hwy E
Mount Joy PA 17552-2904
Q1.) Should I use titles for non professionals like Mr Mrs Miss. Q1 b.) For titles (professionals and Mr/Mrs/Ms) should I use a period at the end, i.e. Mr or Mr., Dr or Dr.?
Q2.) Should I use a period at the end of an initial, i.e. L. David Cassell or L David Cassell; or David I Dickel or David I. Dickel?
Q3.) I use USPS address rules with standard abbreviations and no punctuation with the following exceptions,
1.) using a comma to separate address lines when shown on same line
2.) using a hyphen in the ZIP +4
3.) I add county between town and state
4.) I sometimes add the township name as "Anyname Twp" before the county name if appropriate, even if the mail address includes a town name
5.) finally I add an appropriate Tel # after the ZIP as 123-456-7890
SHOULD I CHANGE ANY OF MY FORMAT?
Sorry to sound so picky, but I want to have the most preferred format befor I get too many more names listed.
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR POLITE INPUT!
