You might want to look at his death certificate to see cause of death.

If you don't have any results in getting an obit, you might try public library. If they don't have back issues of the local newspaper they should know who would. Due to cause of his death there should be article in the news section of the paper, also.

Go to Find a Grave site -- http://www.findagrave.com/ -- Click on Search Grave Records, enter Theodore Evers, select state of Texas, select county of Cass. You can view his headstone and will find someone has entered information on him and his family. You might want to contact her.
