Nancy,

Thanks for responding. I have researched Charles' family some. His grandfather was William Thomas Minshew (not the William R. Minshew in the descendant list from my previous posting) who arrived in Wood County between 1880 and 1900.

I believe William Thomas Minshew is very likely a cousin to the other Minshews who moved into Wood Co. between 1872 and 1875, but he was not a child of Joseph S. Minshew as all the others were.

William Thomas did come from Alabama, from an area very near where the other Minshew's moved from. Then in 1900 William Thomas is found living literally in the same area as some of the other Minshews. William R. Minshew had moved to Freestone County by 1900. Both William Thomas and some of the children of Joseph S. Minshew have descendants living in Wood County today, though to my knowledge, Charles may be the only one who still carries the Minshew name.

I am very interested in communicating with the descendants of Joseph S. Minshew or with those who are familiar with any of this Minshew family. I have much more information to share now than I did at the time of my first posting.

Thanks, Diana
