I definitely think you are looking in the right part of the country. I checked my family files and found a Robert Hiram Kennington, born June 15, 1869, and died July 11, 1947. He married Sarah Ann Grider July 21, 1895 in Upshur County, Texas. They had five children. Robert Hiram and at least two of children were buried in Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas. You may find other Kenningtons there.
