Looking for any information pertaining to JD Simmons (cir. 1858 - cir. 1888). I have a Petition For Divorce" from Williamson County, TX on 12/22/1890 and "Divorce Decree" from Williamson County, TX on 2/11/1896 from Margaret Ellen Ward. I also have a "Marriage Certificate" from Milam County, TX dated 3/30/1882 to Margaret Ellen Ward. Finally, a "List Of Deeds" in Milam County, TX from August to October 1888 where JD & Margaret placed their "mark" (they could not read nor write) in order to sell property owned by William Jackson Ward (Margaret Ellen Ward's father) upon his death. Williamson County Sheriff posted summons on 6/8/1891 that ran for four weeks in local county newspaper though he could not read nor write. Margaret Ellen Ward accused JD Simmons of verbal and physical abuse in her petition, and claimed left in August 1888 and has not returned. However, last evidence of his existence is his "mark" on 10/20/1888 on a "List Of Deeds", and was then never heard from again. Margaret Ellen Ward was remarried and had two children before her divorce from JD Simmons was finalized in January of 1896. She divorce once again and remarried in 1942. No record of the Ward genealogy is listed of Margaret Ellen Ward every marrying JD Simmons, though she was Mormon and moved to Salt Lake City, UT where the Ward family is well documented with the LDS. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
