Maybe you might take a peek and see if a Thomas Pool Adams is listed. He went to Wichita Falls in 1911 as a lawyer then got into the oil patch at Burkburnett?.

"Mr. ADAMS had been operating (page2) in the East Texas field for several years. He came to Wichita Falls 31 years ago from East Texas and engaged in the insurance business but soon became attracted by important oil discoveries in Electra in 1913 and became one of the district's largest independant operators. His most successful operations was in the Clara district in the Ramming and other pools of that section. He was head of the Adams Oil company, the I-Tex Oil company, and the McBam and other producing companies that operated at Burkburnett and in the Wichita Falls area"

Cousin to Thomas was Samuel H Adams. He was in the area but I've been unable to find anything other than this:
